One of the best finishing products on the market was created by our very own Kevin Richards, who despite having a history in engineering, has found himself working in the signage supply industry for over a decade.
Richards, who invented the Ezee Applicator, did not ever imagine that he would be working in the signage supply industry today.
“I was in the engineering game, that was my game. While I was in that game, I was asked to manufacture the machine that we have here, the Ezee Applicator, and that’s really where my link towards signage started,” Richards stated.
Richards said that being in the engineering field made him think of products in terms of manufacturing, and when the proposition to build the Ezee Applicator came along, it was a challenge for him. A challenge, that he would soon conquer.
“I could see what was wrong with what somebody was trying to do and with that in mind, I thought ‘I’m sure that I could make it work,’” said the engineer.
While he doesn’t think of himself as being an inventor, he does believe that he is someone who ‘thinks outside of the box’.
The engineer’s keen involvement in the signage supply industry, particularly over the past five years, has ensured that top quality finishing products are available to you.
“The best moments that I have at Sytech is where we do the shows in Johannesburg and to see the people’s expressions when they see this application machine work. It gives you quite an exciting feeling,” Richards said.
Since being developed approximately seven years ago, the Ezee Applicator has gained immense popularity, becoming part of a finishing range which you can purchase from Sytech.
“They always say, if you don’t finish the job well, you might as well not do it at all,” he said.
The journey has come with its challenges, but it has all been worth it.
